In this track, teachers will learn several ways to can incorporate songwriting into their 2nd or 3rd grade ELA course and throughout their day. From familiar children’s songs to the blues, rap, and to completely original songwriting, you will feel comfortable with the steps to creation, the musical language of song, and the tools and techniques you’ll need to bring these strategies to your students. Computers, tablets, and smart phones are encouraged to incorporate apps and websites that will be useful in songwriting. Bring your instrument if you want to use it in your classroom.
